What's the limit on a single file size?

I have just signed up for a free account and tried to upload a 0.45 GB image series for a colleague.  The file does not upload and a window pops up asking if I want to upgrade to upload files up to 2GB.

Can a file of this size be uploaded?

Thanks

joe

Joe,

Thanks for your question.

Our free accounts have a filesize limit of 250MB per file.

Here is our help page on our filesize limit:

https://support.box.com/entries/22559007-Why-can-t-I-upload-files-larger-than-250-megabytes-MB-

...and you compare our available plans here:

Please let us know if there is anything else I can do to help and thanks for using Box!

This is the dumbest thing I've heard.  I have 50GB of storage yet can't upload a 3 minute video, making the reason I signed up moot.  I think that 500 MB would be a more reasonable size for maximuim size since the gap is so large 250 MB the next plan allows up to to 2GB.  I have less storage on Dropbox but will continue to use it as I can upload much larger files.
