Always visible folder tree please

Let me have a better view on folders, that can be managed without having to click 100 times to get to a specific folder. It would be nice to have a folder tree view on the left (like in Windows Explorer or Mac OS X Finder) that is alway visible, has a right click context menu for rename, copy, move or create new folder operations.

Also, drag and drop should be supported so I can drag a document from the right side to a folder on the left side (with automatically uncollapsing collapsed folders when hovering the dragged file over a collapsed folder for a while).

In short - make the Web UI more like the file browsers we are all used to. Without this, it's really a pain to move/copy things around.

Cynthia is spot on. Someday, if this feature becomes available, I will actually use this service more than once a week.

Not only visible tree, but something like dashboard with some sections/areas to customize:

-to work with visible tree

-to mount favorite folders

  • to mount favorite files

  • to see updates

  • to see status of pending tasks my/delegated   .... due/overdue to review/to approve

  • calendar

-statistic

Don't be affraid to suggest more!

Yes, please add this functionality. Would help our users tremendously, not just the Admin.

Thank you in advance!

Yes I agree !   It is hard to find the job folders you need.  It is loaded by the folder name, not the job name.  I agree with Alexander.  Start with Job folder Names in the BOX File tab.

Thank you.

I would love to be able to re-organize the file structure for all of our users at a high level. Drag and drop folders into different subtrees or into the root, manage who as access to what, etc.

I second the dashboard area!  Would give the product more of a document management/sharepoint type of feel.

A lot of good suggestion here! Nothing original, just use any modern OS which has undergone years of evolution and all of the above features are standard fare.

It would be nice if you can print out the folder tree, or some sort of log page to visually show what is saved in box.com.

Agree with all of the above! Also love the drag/drop feature that I'm accustomed to, and being able to print out the file structure as an outline for other staff.

Thanks!

Absolutely great idea. Drag and drop to/from a folder tree would be perfect. Better still if it was even possible to move a file to a folder in the tablet versions

oh please add the tree with print options! I was just here searching through help to figure out how to do that. Really lovely if we had it.

Ditto about the print options.  I've just been asked to do an index of everything and would be so nice if I could just print the the tree of what is in each folder!

What David never seems to do is give a solution.

Wondering if people realise you can get to the tree by clicking the Jump To Folder link (under the box logo) from All Files.
