Uninstall/Reinstall Box Sync 3.x

Windows:

  1. Right click on the sync application in the Windows notification area (system tray) and exit out of sync
  2. Go to Control Panel > Programs > Select Box Sync from the application list and uninstall the Box Sync application
  3. Restart your computer
  4. Download the installer from app.box.com/settings/sync and reinstall the application

Mac:

  1. Look in your downloads folder for the "Box Sync Installer". Double-click to launch it. If you removed the installer from your downloads folder, obtain a new one from app.box.com/settings/sync
  2. Click the "Uninstall" button
  3. When the process is complete, please restart the computer
  4. Once the uninstall finishes, please restart the "Box Sync Installer" and install the program again.

It is also possible to uninstall Box Sync for Mac without the "Box Sync Installer":

  1. Open the application "Activity Monitor" on your Mac and search for Box Sync. Select "Quit Process" then choose "Force Quit."
  2. Open "System Preferences", then right-click on the Box Sync icon and choose "Remove Box Sync Preference Pane"
  3. Open "Finder" on your Mac, navigate to "~/Library/Application Support" and delete the "Box" folder by moving it to the trash
  4. Restart your computer
  5. Download the installer from app.box.com/settings/sync and reinstall the application
