Migrate Content to Box from SharePoint

Moving documents and content from SharePoint to Box can be as simple as dragging and dropping files from Windows Explorer into Box. This is the best way to migrate a small amount of content from SharePoint to Box.

 

To start, navigate to the ribbon in SharePoint and select Open with Explorer.

Next, drag and drop the files and folders that you want to move from SharePoint to a local storage location. For best results, select a local folder on your computer.

Before copying content to Box, you must remove any prohibited characters (\ / “ ; < > | * and ?) from file names. A tool such as Better Rename can automate this process for you.
