Set Up Box Single Sign-On (SSO) with your Identity Provider (IdP)

If you are prepared to set up SSO with Box, please review the information below and submit your connector data to the SSO Questionnaire form.

 

How to configure SAML SSO:

You will need the following information from your SSO Identity Provider:

  • Entity ID or Connection ID
  • Redirect Endpoint URL
  • Public Certificate
  • Alternatively, your metadata should contain all the information above

What you need from Box:

ADFS 2.0/3.0:

You will need your metadata xml file for SSO setup. To collect your ADFS metadata file:

Go to the below link in IE and download the xml file,
https://<SERVERNAME>/FederationMetadata/2007-06/FederationMetadata.xml

*Replace <SERVERNAME> with your server name.
Ex. https://www.company.com/FederationMetadata/2007-06/FederationMetadata.xml

Attach your metadata file to the SSO Questionnaire

Azure:

You will need your metadata xml file for SSO setup. To collect your Azure metadata file:

Go to the the tenant portal by going to the following link in IE:
https://<TENANTNAME>/federationmetadata/2007-06/federationmetadata.xml

*Replace <TENANTNAME> with your tenant portal address. 
Ex. https://www.company.com/federationmetadata/2007-06/federationmetadata.xml

Okta:

You will need the External Key, Redirect URL & Public Certificate for SSO setup. To collect the information:

  1. Go to your Okta Admin dashboard > Applications > Box
  2. Go to Single Sign-On tab > SAML 2.0 > View setup instructions (Ignore default relay state)
  3. Copy the External Key and Redirect URL
  4. Download the cert file
  5. Use this information to fill out the SSO Questionnaire

Setup Guide

OneLogin:

You will need the Issuer URL (metadata) and SAML HTTP Endpoint. To collect the information:

  1. Go to your OneLogin Admin dashboard > Company Apps > Box
  2. Go to SSO tab > Single Sign On
  3. Go to the Issuer URL > Download the metadata
  4. Copy the  SAML HTTP Endpoint URL (redirect URL)
  5. Use this information to fill out the SSO Questionnaire
