A change on the Email Share Modal made in April is blocking us to send an open shared link to an external address.
One of the Box support agents confirmed that there was a change in Mid-April to the Email Share Modal. Since then, all my coworkers under the tenant suddenly became unable to send an open shared-link to any external people via the sending button because of an error message saying "The like could not be sent to the following people due to collaboration restrictions….".
Due to our company's policy, sending an invite to an external collaborator is restricted by settings EXCEPT for an open shared link. An open shared-link is allowed to share documents with external people and I believe it should not be blocked by any settings on Box if you think about the purpose of itself.
What I would like to bring up to discuss is whether the policy and the method of the change on that part was fair or not. Inviting collaborator and sending an open link were treated in a same line in this change but they shouldn't, thinking of the concept of them. It seems that the change on that modal has ended up only damaging the convenience of us...
