Can Box.com user obtain API token that we (3rd party) store for file access?
Can an end user of Box.com obtain an API token that can be given to 3rd party (like myself) that we can then use to access files in the user's Box.com account? My application runs each evening and performs some ETL transformations on certain files. Let's say for example that a Box.com user wants to allow my application to upload/download files to their Box.com account. This means they would have to give us, ahead of time, a token that we could use to access their files. We would rather not have their Box.com username and password as we have no need to do anything other than just read and write files to their account. Also, since our application runs as a nightly service the customer is not involved interacting with our application, so there are no means in which they can enter the username and password interactively.
Is there a way in which an end user can request/generate a token that is used to access their files? If this is possible how long will this API token be valid for?
Thank you.
