Box Sync on different machines
AnsweredI would like to use Box Sync on two different machines, namely my personal laptop and my work desktop. Is this possible?
The FAQ states that you can't have multiple users logged on to Box Sync at the same time.
Thank you in advance!

Hi RN,
Welcome to the Box Community!
Yes, that is correct. You can definitely install Box Sync to multiple computers however it can't be running on one device with multiple users logged in at the same time.
This means if others are using the computer you installed Box Sync to, before they can login and use Box Sync, you must logout from the device first before they can login with their Box credentials.

Hi RN,
I actually use Box Sync in just this very way - I have a desktop at work and a laptop for remote work and I log into Box Sync using my Box account credentials on each machine. I keep my files sychronized on both machines that way so that if I should have to travel, my files are available on the laptop.
I think France's reply was more in line with having more than one user who would be switching off using the same computer, as is the case in a school environment for example. In that case, each user would need to log out of their Box Sync account before the other user could log in but that would also create multiple Box Sync folders on the computer and would rename the first user's Box Sync folder to include their email address.

FWIW, I seem to be partially successful in having sync on two machines (although it stalls repeatedly on the second machine and hasn't successfully downloaded all my files yet). For that reason, I was going to give up, and just use Box online for my second computer. Alternatively, is there a way to have different sets of files set to sync to different machines?

This thread appears to have gone cold, but I am having trouble getting Box Synch to install on another computer.
The issue is, if I visit the Box App page and select Box Synch (https://app.box.com/app-center/box_sync_for_mac/app), rather than having the option to install it on my second computer, the only option is to Remove it.I fear if I click Remove, it might affect a removal on the machine it’s currently installed on.
Can I get an assist here? Thanks.
