Can I set a different shared link expiration date for different users?
I want to use a shared link to share a file or folder with different users. Say 1 user is internal and 1 user is external. I want the internal user to have access longer than the external user. Am I able to set different expiration dates?
I tried testing this but it didn't work as expected. Situation: Note: My company has the default expiration set to 180 days. I shared a link to a file with the internal user, with no change to the default of 180 days. I shared a link to the same file with the external user but I changed the expiration to 1 day. On the next day both the internal and external user no longer had access to the file via the shared link.
Does this happen because of my company's expiration of 180 days? Would it allow me to set different shared link expirations on the same file or folder if there was no pre-defined expiration?

Hi Kim,
Welcome to the Box Community!
The Shared link expiration will expire based on the date that you have chosen when you created this link regardless if you shared it to an external or an internal user.
Unfortunately, it's not possible to set different shared link expirations on the same file or folder for different users.
If this is something you would like to be able to do, I would highly recommend submitting this feature request at pulse.box.com ! Our product managers review these requests and take them into consideration for future product development.
