Box Drive System Extension Failed to Load on M1 Processor

When installing Box Drive on MacBook Pro, OS Big Sur, M1 Processor, this error message appears: 'Box Drive's system extension failed to load. Please make sure it has been enabled in System Preferences > Security & Privacy and then restart your computer.'

After following instructions there is no option to enable the extension, like there used to be on my old MacBook.

I know there are other tickets live about this issue which seems to impact Big Sur, and specifically M1 processor machines. Box say they have been working on for months, with no expected resolution any time soon. I would like to be updated when this issue is resolved. Thanks.
