Restoring from Time Machine backup deleted Box Sync files
I'm having a Box Sync problem related to Time Machine, which I have now learned (too late) isn't supposed to play well with Box. I use Box Sync on two Mac computers, and recently one of them failed and had to be restored from a two-week-old Time Machine backup.
I now know that I should have immediately uninstalled and reinstalled Box Sync on the restored machine to allow it to download the current state of my Box folder, but instead I allowed it to sync. Box seems to have taken the state of that restored computer as the current truth and has reverted all changes and deleted all new files since the two-week-old backup date. The missing files do not appear in the Box trash folder, and version history for changed files is not available: all reverted files have only one version listed from the time of the new sync.
I'm hoping there may be some way to access the state of my Box folder before this mistaken sync. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Details: both machines are Mac laptops running 11.6 Big Sur. Box Sync is 4.0.8041 on both.
