Neither Box Drive and Box Sync working on M1 MacBookPro MacOS 12.0.1
Neither Box Drive and Box Sync working on M1 MacBookPro MacOS 12.0.1
I recently used Migration Assistant to move to a 16 inch M1 MBP and Box Sync, which I used, does not seem to be updating at all, even though it launches.
This page implies Box is never going to upgrade Box Sync to work on M1 Macs. Do you agree that this is fact? https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043696234-Understand-the-Box-Policy-For-Browser-And-OS-Support
So I deleted Box Sync and downloaded latest Box Drive app from here:
https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/1500004479962-Box-Drive-support-on-devices-with-M1-chips
This page does not make it clear whether the new version 2.24.198 requires reduced security on M1 Macs, it seems that a hastily added paragraph at the top of the page implies it is not required.
I installed Box Drive. It did not ask me to enable Rosetta, though I had previously done so for another app. It did not prompt me to change any system preferences other than to allow notifications. It asked for my username and password, and then the "Login to Box Drive" window went blank. There is no Box Drive on my desktop. I don't see Box Drive on my dock as an active app (or in Force Quit), even though the blank window is there. In Activity Monitor I see an app called "Box" using no CPU.
Any suggestions?

I rebooted the M1 MBP and Box Drive appears to have loaded without issue; appears to have accepted password without issue.
If anyone has update on whether Box Sync will ever be supported on M1 Macs, please reply. I like it better than Box Drive because (a) prefer to have a copy of the files on my local drive and not depend on 24/7 Internet access and (2) Carbon Copy Cloner will back up the actual files to an external drive, and it will not do that with a Box Drive virtual disk image.
