How do you know if Box.com app on Windows is using your HD space?
I have the box.com app on my computer and my boss shared a folder with me that we use with a team...it has a TON of files in it and appears to be in my computer (the folder does have a little cloud in the corner of it), but im not sure if it's actually eating hard drive space. How do I confirm? I dont have "sync to desktop" selected so Im guessing no, but how is it that huge files are there on my PC and load quickly (like 1gb files sometimes)?
If it's not taking up space, why doesnt box.com show a BIG obvious popup stating "Dont worry, this isn't taking up your hard drive space". ???? Why are they making this so complex? Doesn't anyone care over at box? Curse of knowledge I suppose.

Hi Peter,
Welcome to the Box Community, I'm happy to help!
It sounds like you are using Box Drive on your computer, and to verify the actual local space that Box Drive takes up on your device, examine the properties of Box's cache folder in this path:
- Windows: \C:\Users\<USERNAME>\AppData\Local\Box\Box\cache
For more details and tips on how to managed Box Drive's cache limit, I strongly recommend checking out this article: https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/360043695894-Technical-Information-for-Box-Drive-Administrators
Hope it helps! If you have any questions, please let us know and we will do our best to help you.
Regards,
