How you cancel your Box account depends on the type of account plan. You can cancel your individual plan. You must be an administrator to cancel any Business or Enterprise plan. The account owner or administrator will receive a confirmation email once the cancellation has been processed.
Note
If the account administrator is unable to cancel the account or did not receive a confirmation email, submit a ticket here or email cancel@box.com. Cancellation requests made through other channels may be missed and could result in continued charges.
Deleting an Individual Account
Note
You cannot cancel an individual (personal, free) account. You can only delete it.
- Click your account avatar in the upper right, and then select Account Settings.
- In the Account Details section, click Permanently Delete Account.
- Click Okay to confirm and complete the process.
Deletion will not happen immediately, but will take a short amount of time.
Canceling a Personal Pro Account
- Click your account avatar in the upper right, and then select Account Settings.
- In the Account Details section, click Cancel Account.
- Complete the survey and click Continue.
- Click Permanently Cancel My Account to confirm and complete the process.
The account will cancel at the end of the service term.
Canceling a Business or Enterprise Account
Only the account administrator can cancel a Business or Enterprise account.
- Go to Admin Console > Account & Billing.
- In the Status field in the Account Information section, click Cancel Account.

- Complete the survey and click Cancel My Account.
- Click Permanently Cancel My Account to confirm and complete the process.
The account will cancel at the end of the service term.
