On August 23, 2021, a few changes to the Box Terms of Service ("Terms") will take affect for those users whose accounts are subject to the Terms and not a separate written agreement, such as the Box Service Agreement. None of these changes affect the pricing for your subscription or the features included with the Box Service. The Terms continue to be easy to read and understand and will now better reflect the commitments Box and its users make to each other. Some of the more material changes include:
- We have further clarified the categories of users for which an organizational customer is required to purchase account licenses.
- We have added language to our Acceptable Use Policy to more clearly identify some behaviors (e.g. distributing defamatory or libelous materials, violating intellectual property or privacy rights) that are not permitted uses of the Box Service.
- As of October 1, 2021, users who reside in Japan who have accepted the Terms will be entering into a contract with K.K. Box Japan and agree that your relationship with Box will be governed by the laws of Japan.
- Any communications regarding dispute resolution must be made entirely in English.
