Problems with layout and editing when using Word Microsoft Online

When opening a Word file, I normally use Word when editing. Now, I can only choose Word Microsoft Online (and Google Docs, or Box Tools), which leads to lay-out problems (it is a complete mess) and I cannot edit. I have not experienced this before, so how do I solve this?

NB: Box Tools I avoid because it leads to different issues!
