Authenticator App Not Working

Hi, I never configured a 2-step login verification but it's still asking me to do so whenever I log in to a new computer. My authenticator app is not working and I don't remember what my back up code is. I just managed to reset my authenticator app (I use microsoft) but it says I have the wrong code. Can you please help in either resetting the authenticator app or providing me with my back up code? Thanks.
