    Hi Nathan,

Yes, signers can choose to proceed with the following options:

    • Not sign - In this case, it will appear as no signing action is taken by the signer, and the request will be outstanding
    • Decline - In this case, the sender is notified that the signer declined along with the reason the signer provided when they declined.
    • Forward - In this case, the signer can forward the document on to someone they deem to be the right person to sign. This is also captured in the signing log.

Please take a look at this article for more details: https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/4404086971027-Signing-a-document

Though it sounds like a feature request to have the forwarded signer's name logged as well. For any product feature request or suggestions, we recommend you post your idea on pulse.box.com for more visibility. Our product team reviews all submissions and will consider whether to include feedback in their product roadmap.

Thank you for that reply but that is not what I am looking for.  Suppose I send a document to a vendor for signature.  That vendor, for whatever reason, is unable to sign the document and must send it on to their boss for signature.  When their boss signs it, it still shows the original person's name in the audit log.  What I am wondering if that if someone is unable to sign who is a designated signatory, is there a way for them to forward on to someone else and have that person sign and be recognized in the log vis a vis the same way this happens in Docusign?  Thanks.

Ok I see it now.  It is hidden by default - my $.02 is to make this side panel enabled by default.  Thank you for the feedback.  This helps.

    Hi Nathan,

    Welcome to the Box Community!

If you need another person to just get a copy without signing, this should be possible by adding the user on Add Recipient and then assign the recipient a role to "Get a Copy".

Get a Copy  –  Select this action if the recipient does not need to perform any action on the document. At the end of the requested signature process, this recipient receives a copy of the final document and a copy of the signing log as a link in email to a Box shared file.

Here is the full article discussing the roles you can assign: https://support.box.com/hc/en-us/articles/4404105660947-Roles-for-signers

Hope that helps! If you have any questions, please us know and we will do our best help.
