Can I reach files send to old box account from my new account?

I have an old box account via my university, but they have stopped using box. So, now I have my private account using gmail. Recently, a collague from US sent me files using my old email, can I open it using my new account?

    Since you no longer have access to the old account. I suggest that the collaborator send you the files again (invitation) to the updated account using the correct email address.
