Problem with Signature Tags when using BoxSign API

I have a document (see "unsigned document" screenshot) that has embedded “[[s|x]]” tags to specify where signatures should go on the document. When I upload the file to send for signing using the webUI it works perfectly and the signatures automatically go where they should (see "Signed WebUI" screenshot).

However, when I use the API to send the document for signing the tags are not recognised and the signatures are placed in the middle of the page (see "Signed API" screenshot). The signing process works apart from the signatures being in the wrong place and the signer cannot move them.

How do I get the API to recognise the tags and place the signatures in the same place as they would go when using the WebUI? I am using the Box.V2 dotNet Nuget package to call the API functions.
