How can i get an email alert when someone shares a file with me? It shows up as red spot on the bell notification icon but unless I am in Box I don't see it.

  Hi Mark, 

  Welcome to Box Community and thanks for your post in the forum! 

  To receive email alerts when someone shared a file with you, 

  1. Go to your desired folder > More Options> Settings 
  2. Scroll down a bit and in Email and Notifications section you can check Uploads to get notified when your collaborator uploads a file in your folder. 
  3. And don't forget to click on Save Changes 

  Enabling email notifications through your folder settings will allow you receive notifications without having to login to the Web-App.
