    Hi Jia LIn,

    Welcome to the Box Community!

Create the parent folder where you want the Box Drive folder to display -- for example, C:\ or C:\Cloud or D:\This\Is\A\Folder

      • When Box Drive launches, it creates a folder called Box in this folder.
            Note
The path does not need to be under the C:\ drive but it cannot be on a network drive or external drive.
    1. Create an new string value (REG_SZ) using the Registry Editor tool under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Box\Box called CustomBoxLocation
    2. Set the value of CustomBoxLocation to the path of the folder you created in step

For example, if you want the Box Drive folder to appear under C:\Cloud:

    NameTypeValueCustomBoxLocation(REG_SZ)C:\Cloud

    • Restart Box Drive.

    Hi Aj,
Two years on, we're still asking the same question as Jia Lin.

I appreciate your explanation, but unfortunately it doesn't work for us. I'm not sure I understand this next step (create a new string value (REG_SZ) using the Registry Editor tool under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Box\Box called CustomBoxLocation), where it is this folder, with this app, txt or wherever.

I'm sorry, but I'm struggling to understand why this is so difficult. We need a solution that works. Our main hard drive doesn't have infinite space, so we need to change it.

    Thanks in advance,

    Best Regards.
