3. You installed an older version of Box Drive on top of a newer version.

I just bought a new MacBook Pro and am having the same issue.  Please help. I tried uninstalling, reinstalling many times.  Did not work.

I ended up downloading all the files, saving them on iCloud Drive and working them directly from iCloud documents.
