Did this ever get resolved?  I am facing a similar issue with the metadata_query_restricted error and would love to learn more details of a possible cause and solution.

3. .NET SDK BoxFolderRequest Description Field Not Working

The developers of the SDK have confirmed that the Description field has not yet been implemented.  It will either be removed or implemented in a future release.
