Exam Violations
- Maintaining the integrity of Box certification is a top priority. An exam violation is any activity that may compromise the integrity and/or security of the Box Certification Online Program, certification exams and materials, or enables an unqualified candidate to pass a Box certification exam.
- Participants that violate any exam rules, program policies, or agreements may be permanently ineligible for any Box certifications and may lose already obtained Box certifications.
- Please familiarize yourself with the following list to avoid any inadvertent exam violations. Exam violations may include, but are not limited to the following activities:

Exam Retakes
- The Box Certification team wants you to succeed. Therefore, we do make exam retakes available at no cost to you. If you do not pass an exam, you may attempt to retake the same exam in accordance with the following policies:
- General retake policy:
- If you do not pass a certification exam, we recommend you spend a bit more time working within Box, reviewing the provided curriculum, and reviewing your score report for guidance on focus areas for preparation purposes before attempting the exam a second or third time.
- If you do not pass after your fourth (4th) attempt, you may contact the Box Certification team to request a fifth attempt within three (3) months of the enrollment in the Box certification exam. Box will use this opportunity to understand your past attempts and help guide you to additional resources to help you be successful. It is at Box’s sole discretion to grant you any additional exam attempts if you are unable to pass the exam within the allocated attempts.
Exam scoring policy
- Exams are scored immediately upon completion of the exam and a score report will be presented online.
- There is no penalty for providing incorrect answers. If you choose an incorrect answer, you simply do not earn credit for that item. No points are deducted for incorrect answers or answers left blank.
- If a question specifies that you must choose multiple correct answers, you must choose the exact number of correct answers specified in the question in order to earn the credit for a correct answer. Partial credit is not given.
- Scoring is calculated by totaling up the number of correct answers and determining if this is above or below the established passing score for that particular exam.
Question Challenges
- Box certification exams are developed following a thorough process to ensure exam validity and reliability. All exam questions are reviewed by a group of subject matter experts to ensure their alignment and accuracy to the subject matter at hand. From time to time, participants may feel that a question presented on the exam did not appropriately reflect the objective of the exam (either through alignment with the content or technical accuracy) for which they are testing. When these concerns arise, we encourage customers to send feedback regarding the question directly to the Box certification team. When this feedback is received, the following policies apply:
- Please proceed with caution. Customers should exercise caution in communicating question challenges. All exam content is confidential and must not be disclosed to any third party individuals.
- To maintain exam security, customers will not be able to find out whether they answered that particular question correctly.
- All feedback is compiled and carefully reviewed to ensure that the question still appropriately meets the exam objective.
- All rationale related to decisions regarding challenged questions will be kept as confidential Box records to further ensure exam validity and security.
Certificates
- Go show them what you’ve earned! The Box certificate is your official documentation of having earned a Box certification. A digital certificate will be sent to you via email after your exam score has been verified and you have met all certification requirements. This should occur approximately 5-7 business days after passing the exam, or after having met any additional requirements.
- Your certificate will contain a unique certificate identification code to be used for verification purposes.
- Certificate IDs can be verified through a third-party, Accredible.
Certification Expiration and Recertification
- Your Box certification will not expire, however, it will become out of date when a future Box certification exam is created for the same certification.
