Box AI is available across Box, helping users summarize content, ask questions, and surface insights wherever they work with files. When used with Box Hubs, Box AI becomes especially powerful. 

In a Box Hub, Box AI allows you to ask questions across all the content in that Hub. Box AI analyzes the files you have access to and generates summaries, insights, and responses based on that content.

Box AI is especially helpful when working with:

  • Meeting notes and summaries

  • Reports and strategy documents

  • Project documentation

  • Policies, procedures, and reference materials

Using Box AI with Hubs helps transform curated content into a more dynamic, searchable knowledge experience.

 

Accessing Box AI in Box Hubs

Let's learn how to launch Box AI, ask effective questions, and refine responses as you work.

  1. Open a Box Hub
    In the Box web app, navigate to Hubs and open the Hub you want to explore. Box AI works across all files in the Hub that you have permission to access.

  2. Launch Box AI
    Select the Box AI button in the Hub toolbar to open the Box AI panel.

  3. Ask a question or make a request
    In the Box AI panel, enter a question or instruction related to the Hub’s content, then select Ask.
    Example: “Summarize the key takeaways from this Hub.”

  4. Review the response
    Box AI generates a response in real time based on the content in the Hub. Review the summary or insights provided to confirm they meet your needs.

  5. Refine with follow-up questions
    Ask follow-up questions to narrow the focus, change the format, or explore details.
    Example: “List the action items in bullet points.”

  6. Reuse the output
    Copy the response to share with teammates, paste into a document, or use as a starting point for notes, emails, or presentations.

  7. Start a new topic when needed
    Clear the conversation to reset the context and ask questions about a different topic within the Hub.
