    Hi Robert,

Welcome to the Box Community! I’m happy to help.

The first issue is Box Sync only supports syncing a total of 100,000 files and up to 100GB to ensure best performance and does not support the amount syncing the amount of content you are attempting to sync to the webapp.  This is documented in our About Box Sync article.  What our team has recommended for you, should you decide not to utilize a content migration service, is is to work with an FTP server and upload directly to the box.com web app.  As stated before, our desktop and mobile applications are intended for end users to access content in the cloud and not as a tool for content migration or large folder operations.  We do offer Box Shuttle, and work with other 3rd party migration tools, for the workflow you are attempting. The important thing to note is that even our own Box Shuttle does not utilize Sync or Drive to perform migrations.

Please do visit the previously provided support articles for more information on our supported content migration methods and best practices.
    Box Sync Frequently Asked Questions
In this FAQ article it addresses the second reason your workflow is not supported:

    • Box Sync is not supported in server environments.
    • Box Sync does not support networked drives (non-local drives accessed over the network).
    • Box Sync does not support shared drives (drives accessible to multiple users across multiple machines).
