Syncing files onto a NAS system
AnsweredWe have a Synology NAS system that we were using to store data locally, which was syncing to Box. There was a critical problem with the NAS system, and we had to replace all of the hard drives. We are now trying to sync with Box, to download all of the data back down to the NAS... but the files appear to be transferring very slowly (0 to 15 MB/s). Is there a download limit that prevents using Box in this way? This will hopefully be a one-time download (we have never previously had a similar issue since we started using either Box or the NAS system). Is there a way to temporarily lift or increase our download limit?
Thanks.

Hi Robert,
Welcome to the Box Community! I’m happy to help.
The first issue is Box Sync only supports syncing a total of 100,000 files and up to 100GB to ensure best performance and does not support the amount syncing the amount of content you are attempting to sync to the webapp. This is documented in our About Box Sync article. What our team has recommended for you, should you decide not to utilize a content migration service, is is to work with an FTP server and upload directly to the box.com web app. As stated before, our desktop and mobile applications are intended for end users to access content in the cloud and not as a tool for content migration or large folder operations. We do offer Box Shuttle, and work with other 3rd party migration tools, for the workflow you are attempting. The important thing to note is that even our own Box Shuttle does not utilize Sync or Drive to perform migrations.
Please do visit the previously provided support articles for more information on our supported content migration methods and best practices.
