BOX changes my file names

Why does Box change the names of my uploaded files to long lists of meaningless numbers? You erase all the critical identifying information – names, dates, locations! This problem prevents us from working on the project.

Welcome to the Box Community! I'm happy to help.
I believe you are pertaining to jpeg files and those files are defaulted in numbers. Have you already changed file names before uploading them to Box?
To change file name in Box please go to the file and click on the Ellipsis> More Actions> Rename> Save.
