Box Drive problems: reset Box Drive; couldn't update to 2.30.87
I went around and around with this problem (MacBook Air M1).
I followed the manual reset instructions. Did it for both modes eventually because Box seemed confused about which mode it was using (it still showed in both locations on the sidebar but the fpe directories and files were present also). [I am leaving out lots of details left out about terminal commands to clean and to enable fpe mode, etc.)
I also got messages at times about Box had a problem updating to 2.30.87.
Eventually I uninstalled Box and then reinstalled and had the same problems. Started getting the repeat Mac message about Box adding items that load in the background. It wasn't enough to just turn off login items for Box. It wasn't enough to switch off the Finder extensions for Box either.
Eventually I manually swept clean all the box stuff I could find in either of my Library directories. There were a few items in Launch Demons or LaunchAgents (these probably solved the message but they weren't enough to enable a clean install to work).
I downloaded the Box installer again, which installs the previous 2.29xxx version. That went fine. And after running it for a while, it eventually asked to update to 2.30 and that also went fine.
Interestingly , to me anyway, when I go to the Extensions manager for Added Extensions, the Finder Extensions under Box is still unchecked after the reinstall. Not seeing any consequence so far. ~ steve
