Can I remove the new "Select" option from folders and files so I can download without selecting 1st?

I logged into Box this weekend to see a new function - a "Select" box at the end of all files and folders that must be "clicked" or "selected" before doing anything like downloading, moving files, etc. Now when you click on folders and files it defaults to opening a new page with just that file.

This is a perfect example of an annoying update that I can't imagine anyone asked for - as it does little (if nothing imo) to help functionality. Is it possible to turn this new feature off? Or are we stuck with this new iteration until the next update?
