How to choose an app type
The online information provided by box is not lacking in volume, but it's very hard to understand. It may be correct, but if folks can't understand it it's not very valuable. Even this community is confusing. This "topic" is called "platform and developer forum". The name implies I want to talk _about_ the forum, but that's not what I want to do. I want to talk about box _on_ the forum.
Anyway, the thing I want to know is how do I choose which type of app to create? There is plenty of text describing them at https://.../developers/console/newapp, but it means very little to me. This information is for someone who knows box very deeply; full of jargon. I just want to pull files via an automated process. Do I want a custom app, limited access app or box custom skill app? What is a custom skill app? What is a Box View app? What is server side authentication? What is scope/access? What is app gallery? What does this mean: 'request access to all files and users in an enterprise'? When it says "cannot access all API endpoints" which can I access? What does it mean by Enterprise? What does this mean: "utilize a box provided secure token for easy, secure data transfer between services"? How is it easy? how is it secure? what services?
Does everyone else understand this stuff but me? I'm usually pretty good at learning tech stuff. But, this is way over my head.
How does one choose between the different app typs?
