4. Review the “~/Box-Box-Backup” folder for any unsynced files and either upload them manually or delete them to free up hard drive space.
This item is at the bottom of a help topic that came up for me today: "Box Drive encountered an error at initialization that requires you to manually move aside your existing Box folder"
I was easily able to do steps 1-3. But this step 4 is a mystery. It is clearly not written for the novice or perhaps even average user.
1. Is the specified folder (“~/Box-Box-Backup” folder) hidden somewhere on my Mac hard drive? Is it within the Box application accessed via a browser at box.com?
2. How does one know if a file is "unsynced" (maybe this would be obvious if I knew where this folder was and could look at it)?
3. What does "upload" mean in this context? (As far as I know, I only upload files to Box via the web app -- when I look there, there is no folder "~/Box-Box-Backup" visible to upload anything to. Could dragging files from one Mac Box folder window to another such window count as an "upload"?
The first three steps to respond to the error message are written in a step-by-step fashion requiring nothing but basic Mac knowledge. For example, the instructions don't start with "copy paste this text into Terminal"; instead, it tells you how to find and startup Terminal (which the novice user would not know). But the final instruction is jargon as noted above. As a suggestion, when I write step-by-step guides, I put myself in the frame of mind of someone who knows nothing about the subject ... and when I'm done, I find a person who has no independent knowledge to test my work.
