Box Drive creates 2 versions in folders that are made available offline
Hi! I'm a Mac user on latest OS (Sonoma 14.5) and Box Drive (2.39.174)
When I save any file into a folder (via Finder) I can view it on Box. Great.
However, when I save a file into a folder that is 'made available offline' it immediately creates to versions of that file on Box.com (v1 and v2).
This behaviour happens to other users as well... Is this normal?

Hello,
When you save a file into a folder marked as “available offline” using Box Drive, it creates two versions on Box.com (v1 and v2). This behavior is normal. If you or someone else make changes to this content while you’re offline, Box Drive automatically uploads the revised content when you’re back online, ensuring you work with the most up-to-date versions of your files. If multiple users edit the same file offline, their changes are saved separately as copies, preserving both updates.

Hi Misty,
Thanks for your reply, I don't really fully understand yet though. Why is it immediately making a V2, while I'm the one creating this unique, new file. I'm concerned other users get confused as to why there's a "previous version" of a file that's brand new and has not had any updates. Is it better refrain from using the 'offline' option as a general rule? Will it also create a V2 of files that are already in a folder before you make it offline?
Cheers,
Maarten
