Is Box Sync going away?

Hi,

I've seen a lot of messaging from Box recently about Box Sync not supporting Apple Silicon Macs and recommending using Box Drive instead.

I don't use a Mac, so this is a general question.

Is Box Sync going away in the future for Windows too?

    Box has indeed been pushing for users to transition from Box Sync to Box Drive, and this shift is primarily due to Box Sync's limitations and the newer features offered by Box Drive.     I used Box Sync for ten years at my old company and loved it. When my new company needed a shared drive, I said we'll use Box Sync, it's great! But Box said no, we are phasing out Box Sync so I put us on Box Drive.

    I HATE IT!!

    Can't search, doesn't manage user collisions, doesn't automatically lock files. Have to go through a second and third menu for everything. I really look bad for choosing Box. I had better shared drive collaboration in the 1990s.

    I'm moving to DropBox as soon as I get up the nerve to tell everyone I made the wrong decision.
