Box Drive and Windows Explorer (Indexing and Search)
My firm currently uses Box Sync (old Box system) because it stores a local copy of each file that can be indexed in Windows Explorer for easy searching of the entire Box folder on my Windows PC.
Last time I installed Box Drive, I was unable to use the native Explorer search feature for my Box files in Windows, so I quickly downgraded back to Box Sync.
Now, our team is complaining about slow sync times and certain subfolders not syncing across the team, so we would like to try Box Drive again. However, not being able to search Box folder (and subfolders) in Windows Explorer is a deal killer for me. The Box App search tool is clunky and not user friendly at all. So is the Box.com search feature. By far, Windows Explorer's native search function is the best.
Has Box fixed this issue yet? Can you now use Windows Explorer natively to index and search files on Box folders with Box Drive? If so, great. If not, are there any workarounds?
I'm at the point where I'm ready to leave Box forever and head over to Dropbox (which works seamlessly with Windows Explorer even with their cloud-based product).
Thanks!

As of now, Box Drive does not fully integrate with Windows Explorer for native file indexing and search like Box Sync does. While you can access files through paybyplatema Explorer, the search functionality may not work as seamlessly. A potential workaround is to use the Box Drive web interface for searching, but I understand that it's not as user-friendly.
