Access to Annotation content via API, Webhooks, or Javascript Preview SDK?

I am working on a proof-of-concept for embedding Box View in our application and one of the big wishlist items is annotations.  I have no problem getting the view to support annotations, but I am failing to find anywhere that allows me to access the annotation content.

I was hoping that they would be returned as comments on the file, but this is not the case.

I was able to see that there is an enterprise-level event logged when an annotation is created, which allows me to track who posted an annotation to what file.  But I'd also like to access the content that the user added.  Am I missing something or does anyone know if this support is coming?  I realize annotations are somewhat new, so I'm hoping that this is available, but undocumented yet or coming soon.
