Moving files from a user account to a Box admin account (via API)

Hello,

As per some of the guidelines posted here, I was successfully able to move files from the user account via the Admin Console using the Content Manager.

Some of the answers I have seen involve an intermediate collaboration step which can enable copying/moving of files from the user account to the admin account.

However, is there any way via the Box API that I can mimic what the Content Manager is doing to bypass the collaboration step? If my organization enables "Global Content Manager (GCM)", would I be able to move files from a user account to the Box admin account via API?

Any help would be appreciated.

If you are moving all of a user's folders and files to another user's account, you can use the Move Owned Items endpoint to do this without needing to use the Collaboration endpoint. If you are moving individual folders or files, you would have to use the approach you described involving the Collaboration endpoint.
