can you add an appuser to a group

I am trying to create an app which accesses folder created by box end users. I was able to create and add an appuser as a collaborator to an existing box share. I want our end users to be able to add a group to their folder, this group should contain the appuser as a member so it also gets access to those files.

 

How do you add an appuser as a member of a standard box group (which might also contain box endusers).

     You can add App Users to an existing Box group that already has Managed Users. Please see the code example in this thread.

     thanks. Your suggestion does work, and I was able to add the users via the api.

     

    But when you try to edit that group members using the standard Box portal, it never loads, as long as the group has a appuser within. So, if a group has an appuser as a member, you are unable to edit that group members using the box portal.

     

    Is there a way to fix this?

    Good morning ,

     

    that sounds like a big bug to me so I understand you will have to open a case for that with support so they can solve it asap.

     

    Probably the answer will be that as a workaround, for the time being, use the API.
