V2 Webhooks disappeared from account
Hello,
We noticed that our server had stopped receiving webhooks from Box. When we investigated, we found that our account had no webhooks associated -- they had somehow been deleted. Nobody to our knowledge deleted the webhooks from our side.
What would be an explanation for this?
Thanks!

You'll stop receiving Box webhooks if you delete the application associated with the token that created the webhook. You'll also stop receiving Box webhooks if your server stops replying back to Box with a success response saying the webhook was received.
If either of those are not the case, it might be a bug on our end. Can you please file a support ticket and we can investigate further?

Is there an exponential back off? Can you just drop the particular attempt after a certain amount of time or does the entire webhook need to be deleted? Can we override this? And is there any indication here that this has happened? There's no documentation that I could find on this behavior.

I agree we need to add this information to the documentation. To answer your question, we use exponential backoff over 30 days. After the webhooks stops sending events you'll need to recreate the webhook. Unfortunately, we don't have a way to check if a webhook failed. Please let me know if that answers your question?

Hi
This happened again. I'm not sure that a 30 day exponential backoff answer makes sense here. Your answer would make sense talking about an individual event. However, in this case, the webhook itself disappeared from our account. As in: we stopped receiving any events, and when we go to list webhooks in our account, none show up. Could you please shed some light on all scenarios where this could happen?
Thanks!
