Why is a collaboration's created_by null?

I have multiple collaborations on a folder that show created_by null? Is that an acceptable value? What does it mean? I'm getting the same result via the node.js SDK or cUrl.

  Thanks for reaching out! One possible explanation is the collaboration was made by an anonymous user but we cannot really come to that conclusion 100% without more information. You can find out about how Anonymous users are reported on in the Admin Console reporting here:
