Get direct link to a file version

Can I use the API to get a URL to a specific version of a file?

 

I tried using something like:

 

https://api.box.com/2.0/files/5***phone number removed for privacy***/content?version=558081399835&fields=download_url

 

but it doesn't work.  The download_url field seems to be ignored.  The server responds with "302 Found" and a Location header which contains the URL, but this URL isn't accessible from my JavaScript client code.

  Direct shared links only work for the current version of the file. In case you cannot authenticate and download a particular version of the file, the only option is to make a copy of the particular version, generate an open shared link and use the same to download.
