Get File/Folder Collaborations for any file/folder
Hi all,
According to the Box Api documentation, Get File/Folder Collaborations call should : "Retrieves a list of collaborations for a file/folder. This returns all the users that have access to the folder."
I've noticed that this returns the collaborations only if the logged in user who's requesting it is part of the collaborations list; otherwise, if the user is not part of the collaboration list, it returns 404
Is there any way to get file/folder collaborations for any item if you know it's id?
I'm trying to get this from an admin account, but again if admin is not part of the collaborations I can not get the collaborations list for that specific item.
Thanks for help, in advance! 😄

Hi ,
There are two ways that this can be accomplished:
- No account change method: As you noted, the way to get the collaboration information (even as an admin) is to perform the collaboration lookup as a person who has access as a collaborated content.
- Account change method: There is a special global content manager scope that may be enabled on paid enterprise accounts through a request to support. This would enable admin accounts with the ability to look up content throughout the enterprise, as you want to do. Just be aware of the side effects in the docs I linked before heading down that path.
Hope that helps,
Jon
