Difference between EDIT event and ITEM_MODIFY event

What is the difference between EDIT event and ITEM_MODIFY event?
I am getting these two events on the same file but not able to understand the difference.

  Hello, 

  I did some testing. I think ITEM_MODIFY is only for Box Notes. I do see that EDIT is appearing for the same box notes though. I'm reaching out to an internal team. I will reply back if I hear more information.
