Cannot create custom app

When I try to create my first app, it doesn't matter what app name or Authentication MethodI use. I always get an error: "An app with that name already exists. Please use another name"

  I think this is due to you having a free account vs a developer account. You can sign up for a developer account here. I do think that error is confusing, so I alerted an internal team.

  I did a little more research into this, and I need to retract my previous statement. It looks like free accounts can make applications. Can you send me screenshots of the process you are following/errors you are seeing?
