End of support for "Content Open With"

I'm interested in using the OpenWith UI element in order to embed a dropdown in a custom application to open content stored in box with a partner application, or locally on the desktop.

From the documentation, it seems this element will no longer be supported from Dec 21, 2021.

Are there any other alternatives to allow users to open & edit box documents from their custom application?
