Any way to get /Users/username/Box virtual directory back on macOS Monterey?

In prior versions of MacOS, before 12.2 / Monterey, Box Drive would map a virtual directory to Box located in the local file system at /Users/username/Box/.  After upgrading to Monterey this is gone.  Is there a way to get it back since it's impossible to interact with files in Box using command line tools without that mapping.  Box drive seems to have zero settings so I can't find anything obvious.  Kind of hard to use software development tools with no command line mapping.
