Box Drive takes over windows overlays?

Let's just say Box isnt my first cloud service.   I've become exceptionally adept at the dance surrounding windows miniscule icon overlays limit.

I attempted to migrate from sync to drive today and while it was going to be more of a grin and bear it thing, I was compelled to do so.   until "the thing" happened.

so after a few prompts for box to reinstall itself every time i tried to open it, i figured out what was happening.  It was literally re-adding all its overlays to the top of the overlay list any time they were modified.

so bam, minus 6 overlay spots with box drive taking them all, or you aint runnin box drive!

okay, deal.  back to sync I go.

dropbox gets a ton of flack with people locking their registry key up etc over re-adding them every single time the client gets an update.   Here, you cant even START the client without it doing so.  Yuck!
