We were able to resolve the issue by reducing our file count below 20k. We received the following error when using FileZilla to access the directory.

To many items, limit for directory is 20000 items
Is there a way around the 550 response when checking if a file exists in a directory with more than 20,000 files or a way to increase the limit? Currently, the file exists check fails on this dir...
