Using Box Drive on Mac with External Drive Home Folder

I'm on a M4Max MacStudio and have my Home folder on an external super-fast SSD. My applications folder is still on my internal SSD. I can't get Box Drive to run in this configuration. If I log into another account on my Mac that has its home folder on the internal SSD, Box Drive works. I'm hoping a Box software engineer can fix this issue.
