Cannot select multiple files in Grid View

I can't select multiple files in Grid view (I can in list view) using Shift or Command (on a Mac). I thought it was my computer but a coworker is having the same problem as well. I see that someone brought this issue up 5 days ago on this forum, but I didn't see a solution so I'm creating another post - if these need to be merged please feel free. Thanks for any guidance on this issue!
